Angela Ochu-Baiye CEO/Founder, Jela's Development Initiatives

Angela Omeiza Ochu-Baiye is the Founder/CEO of Jela’s Development Initiatives (JDI), a nonprofit organization focused on providing access to clean water and hygiene/sanitation facilities, voluntary blood donors and mental healthcare services.

Amongst many things, her work has included the creation of J Blood Match, an Artificial Intelligence that connects voluntary blood donors to recipients using their blood type and location across the whole of Nigeria and currently being developed as an app to be launched on the 9th of February 2023.

She is a 2019 Mandela Washington Fellow, as a result of which she made a Mandela pledge to raise audacious servant-leaders who would run with various causes, a commitment she is fulfilling through her volunteer workforce at JDI and its related projects.

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commercial Law from the University of Westminster, UK and a Master’s degree in Commercial and Corporate Law from Queen Mary, University of London UK.



The event is a seminal effort at bringing together all 15 West African countries that makeup ECOWAS to discuss and showcase their efforts at engendering digital economies in the sub-region.
